The Schriever Institute was established in 1999 for the purpose of filling a perceived need for providing technology conceptualization and information dissemination. The initial purpose of the Schriever Institute was to serve as a think tank or idea farm to ensure that the US remains the leading space-faring nation. We have evolved into an organization that envisions Harmonious International Relations as the key to our global success in the Human Exploration of the Universe. The Schriever Institute has devoted its energies and resources to discussing, assessing and authoring numerous ideas and concepts related to implementation of the Seventeen (17) Enabling Technologies, as well as, the spin-off or emerging technologies that are sure to generate, which will allow the Human Explorer to return to SPACE. We hope to utilize this website and related tools as a way of realizing and implementing that single focus and multi-faceted goal
